Jan Herman Luitingh

Jan was born in Greytown, Kwazulu Natal, educated at Grey College in Bloemfontein and subsequently the University of the Orange Free State where he obtained his law degree.

 

During this period Jan received various merit awards from Sanlam, Independent Newspapers and the prestigious Sabbagha prize as well as full colours in certain disciplines.

 

He is a member of the Gauteng, Free State and Cape Law Societies and is an accredited mediator of Famac, a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court and a member of Kelvin Grove and King David Mowbray Golf Club. He has been admitted to the High Court as well as the Constitutional Court.

 

Jan resides in Camps Bay with his wife Glenda. They are blessed with three children and four grandchildren. Jan keeps active by playing golf, squash and hiking. He has an intense love for nature and all living creatures and is presently involved in projects relating to the preservation of eagles and the cleaning of oceans.

 

Jan spent some time as legal advisor at the SABC and subsequently became a partner at Herbsteins. He was encouraged to practise for his own account and founded the firm of Luitingh and Associates in 1995.

 

Jan is an acclaimed and respected litigation attorney with extensive knowledge in the world of litigation. Jan specialises in Commercial Litigation, Entertainment Law and Human Rights. He is an accredited mediator and is the Chairman of the firm’s profound Family Law Department.
